“Give me control over a nation’s currency, and I care not who makes its laws.”
Baron M.A. Rothschild

Baron Rothschild was not actually a banker, though a member of a banking family, but never mind, the quotation is apt.

The site is about the multiple ways in which money and the power it brings subverts the democratic process,  why inequality in Western economies is growing, and what we can do about it. The ‘Occupy’ movement is great; may it continue. However it is very difficult for a movement of that sort to come up with a coherent way forward. I hope this site might make some small contribution to this.

I am making no attempt to structure most of the content of this site in advance, though I will try to categorise posts as I go.

I place considerable emphasis on creating a stable economy, both because without it we cannot plan for the future, and because instability helps the 1% to exploit the 99%.

This is written from a UK perspective, but I believe much will apply to many Western economies.

Citations in square brackets are detailed on the References and Links page.

I welcome reasoned posts and will try to find time to publish those I value. I particularly welcome new sources and links, and notification of errors. I also welcome reasoned criticism. However abusive, unhelpful, and irrelevant posts will be ignored.
